Journey Into AI Art: 5th Trial

In the fifth chapter of my "Journey Into AI Art" series, I dove deeper into the exciting world of AI and its art-making magic. As with my previous trials, I asked ChatGPT/DALL-E to draw a picture of itself, showing off its creativity (see below).

Draw a representation of yourself showcasing your creative abilities. Prominently display your name, software version, and the current date. Use maximum resolution in a 3:1 aspect ratio.

The artistic results turned out amazing, the best one yet!  First off, the color transitions are stunning. The mix of straight and curvy lines represents that AI has digital exactness as well as probabilistic imperfection. Also, the use of organic symbols gives a sense that the model is more than just binary code.

However, while the artistic results were fantastic, ChatGPT failed to follow the instructions.  It completely missed the part about displaying its "name, software version, and the current date".

As with my previous experiments, I also asked ChatGPT to generate a companion image (see below).  Again, I think the results were the best yet!  More than in any other trial, the companion image matched the primary one.  If I placed the two images side by side, they wouldn't align perfectly, but the color scheme and the motif of the images are an excellent match.

Generate an accompanying image that aligns to the right of the previous image.  Use a 1:1 aspect ratio.

In this latest adventure with AI art, we've hit a new high. The colors and shapes in these pictures are more awesome than ever before, showing how "smart" ChatGPT/DALL-E is getting at making art. Is it getting better via reinforcement learning, or did I just stumble upon a lucky permutation?  I guess we'll find out more in my next trial; however, my next trial won't be an apples-to-apples comparison.  I've decided to break from the scientific method and add a twist to the experiment.  In my next trial, I'll also ask ChatGPT to insert an easter egg as in, "Draw a representation of yourself showcasing your creative abilities. Hide an easter egg, a hidden image, message, or feature, in your representation.  Prominently display your name, software version, and the current date.  Use maximum resolution in a 3:1 aspect ratio."  Here is a sneak peek of what ChatGPT generated for this modified prompt.  I have been unable to find the easter egg, but let me know if you find it!
